*Professor Kim explores the Demilitarized Zone on the Korean peninsula as a haven for biodiversity and a site of militarized ecologies. Her publications include “The Flight of Cranes: Militarized Nature at the North Korea-South Korea Border,” Asian Environments (2014), and Adopted Territory: Transnational Korean Adoptees and the Politics of Belonging (2010, Duke University Press).
